Through The Hands That Remember, Shah aims to reinterpret India’s rich textile heritage for the modern woman, proving that the country’s greatest luxury lies in keeping its craft traditions alive.

Beyond embroidery, The Hands That Remember celebrates the incredible diversity of India’s handloom clusters. Traditional weaves from across the country, including Pochampally Ikat from Telangana, Bandhani and Ajrakh from Bhuj, South Silk from Salem, and lustrous Banarasi weaves, serve as the foundation for the collection. Rather than keeping these techniques separate, the collection uses clever patchwork to let distinct regional fabrics blend seamlessly, creating modern lehengas, sarees, and ensembles defined by quiet elegance.

Through the Grassroots Artisans Project, an initiative founded by Monica Shah across clusters in West Bengal, Gujarat, Telangana, and beyond, JADE provides year-round employment, fresh design direction, and stable livelihoods for traditional craft workers.
