(Edited excerpts)

FL: What are some of the favourable jewellery colours, shapes, and silhouettes when it comes to summer destination weddings as well as summertime festivals?

PR: For summer celebrations, bright and bold colours tend to be popular. Emeralds, rubies, and yellow diamonds are some of the more favoured choices when it comes to picking summer jewellery as they add a bright pop of colour. When it comes to shapes, you can choose geometric shapes such as triangles, which are simple yet bold, or circular shapes that add a touch of elegance. For summer events, lightweight jewellery with delicate silhouettes tends to work best. You can also consider oversized earrings or statement necklaces, which can add a touch of drama to your outfit.

FL: As travel and tourism mark a global return, what would be your ideal picks for curating a vacation-worthy jewellery kit?

PR: One thing that COVID-19 has taught us is to live up every day and 2023 will reflect this in every shape and form. Make your vacations momentous with daily-wear pieces that also make a statement. Go all out on earrings to complement your vacation glow with our diamond-studded hardware hoops and matching hardware bracelets, and why not layer them with the Apple watch case. One can never go wrong with our Tanzanite Blossom ring to add a pop of colour and sparkle to your holiday looks.

FL: Innovating with polki, diamonds and ethically sourced gemstones, what makes an Amaris by Prerna Rajpal jewel one of a kind?

PR: What makes Amaris by Prerna Rajpal jewels one of a kind are our unique and timeless designs, exceptional craftsmanship, and use of high-quality materials at affordable prices. With our ethically sourced materials, intricate attention to details, and innovative designs, the jewellery made by our skilled artisans is not only beautiful but comfortable, sustainable and durable.

FL: What are the defining trends of this season in the bridal jewellery spectrum?

PR: Diamond jewellery is timeless and always a great investment even outside the wedding trousseau. Breaking the conventions of the traditional polki, an all-diamond jewellery look is taking centre stage this wedding season. Brides are also opting for jewellery with coloured stones such as emeralds, sapphires, and rubies on their wedding day. Additionally, layered necklaces with different lengths and styles are in trend for weddings, giving a textured look to the outfit. Pearl jewellery, especially freshwater pearls, is making a comeback. Pearl jewellery makes for a classic and timeless look and can be repurposed on occasions following your wedding day.

FL: Could you tell us how celebrity style, social media and evolving consumption patterns have influenced or impacted the shaping of luxury?

PR: Celebrities have long been influencers in the fashion industry, and their impact on the luxury sector cannot be understated. The endorsement of luxury brands by celebrities has led to increased brand awareness and demand for luxury goods. The media consumption habits of our target customers have changed significantly since the pandemic, with a significant increase in the amount of time spent on platforms like Instagram and online shopping. Many women, today, spend hours browsing trends and brands, and companies that prioritise content are performing well. In our case, our Instagram and our online shopping platform are playing a significant role in building our brand’s credibility and making it a household name with jewellery connoisseurs across the globe.

FL: Where, according to you, is the future of fine jewellery headed in India, especially at a time when Indian fashion and jewellery brands are being spotted on global runways?

PR: The luxury jewellery market in India has been witnessing YOY growth, driven by a growing exposure to international markets, increased disposable income, and a growing preference for luxury goods. Driven by factors such as rising tourism, increasing urbanisation, and a growing e-commerce space, the market is expected to see strong growth in the coming years. However, it is also to be taken into account that the market has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to a decline in consumer spending, but as the situation improves, it is expected that the market will rebound in 2023.

“Diamond jewellery is timeless and always a great investment even outside the wedding trousseau. Breaking the conventions of the traditional polki, this wedding season an all-diamond jewellery look is taking centre stage.”
